THE MARTINDALE-HUBBELL ORGANIZATION

For more than a century, the Martindale-Hubbell organization has been the premier lawyer-rating service in the United States. Long used by lawyers to find qualified counsel in far-off locations, Martindale-Hubbell relies on confidential evaluations by both lawyers’ peers and by members of the judiciary, on both legal ability and ethics. M-H will not give a lawyer any rating – no matter how great the legal ability – if it cannot say he or she “[e]mbraces faithful adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics of the legal profession, professional reliability and diligence, and standards relevant to the attorney’s discharge of his or her professional responsibilities.” If the lawyer meets those requirements, and if his or her legal ability is at least “good”, M-H will assign one of three ratings: “CV” meaning the legal ability is at least good; “BV” meaning ability is rated high to very high; and “AV” meaning ability is rated very high to preeminent. Both of The Sharp Law Firm’s partners have been given the highest ratings – AV – for many years.

Of lawyers given the AV rating, some are further included in the MARTINDALE-HUBBELL BAR REGISTER OF PREEMINENT ATTORNEYS. Both of our partners have been given that honor, John Hundley in civil trial practice and commercial litigation, and Terry Sharp in bankruptcy, commercial law and real estate.
